Fanny Chan

The shape and texture of stones change over time via weathering; water, ice, acids, salts, plants, animals and temperature changes are all agents of such changes. Hong Kong ceramics artist Fanny Chan uses this as a metaphor to express her thoughts about life changes, as well as all the injury and healing processes that may happen in one’s life. By repeating the procedures of carving and inlaying, the artist looked back into her past, recovered from her wounds, and finally was able to present her works in a peaceful state.
